EDIT: Never mind about this description! They contact me and they say I’m in!
WARNING! Contains gore art! Well, sort of. I don’t know, I usually don’t draw this kind of stuff so I don’t know if this one considers a gore art… Anyway…
This gouache art I did last week is my entry for the Zombiexquisito exposition called “Siniestra Navidad” (Sinister Christmas) that will take place this month December. I already sent it to them by email, but I haven’t heard anything from them, yet.. Maybe is because of: 1) I probably didn’t enter; or 2) Maybe there were not enough entries for the exposition so they’er thinking to cancel this activity, I don;t know
Anyway, I had a lot of fun to paint this art piece! Enjoy!
You better watch out! - You better not cry - And if you don’t know I tell you why - Evil Santa Girl is coming… to kill you - And pray your name is not in her list.
Also, check out my Instagram, I upload traditional arts and, sometimes, digital art.
An art commission requested by a client.
These characters are Miyu (left) and Ran (right) from a 90s' anime called "Super Gals!". And these are their adult versions (requested by the client).
And now, a little bit of dialogue:
Miyu: After 17 years Ran, I can always depend on you to get the job done. Our gang has gone well beyond Shibuya and its here to stay. Come to think of it, was never satisfied by our first fight, I only fell to the ground 1 second after you did. How's a rematch sound?
Ran: Not sure if I can win Miyu, we were 14 back then.. You've gotten much stronger since then. Besides you're a leader, you need to be stronger.
Miyu: But you and Hideki are my body guards. I can't have you go soft on me Kotobuki. And besides, loser pays for dinner tonight
Ran: Alright then! Lets do it! What kind of Girlfriend would I be if I said no?
This art commission is like a short break from the comic that I’m working on. And this art is requested by the awesome Scott Needham, the creator of Quickstrike webcomic!
I don’t remember when was the last time I drew a fantasy art, but I had a lot of joy drawing these two characters. Drawing food was the challenging part (because I never drew food before), but I learned a lot.
And drawing a fantasy art took me back to those days when I was crazy with the fantasy theme in my teenhoods. You know, Final Fantasy, D&D, The Lord of the Rings (The old animation movies) and a lot more.
This inking draw is my first art I made with my new Wacom Cintiq 13HD. And that machine is really amazing! Actually, I never thought that drawing with that kind of tablet would be so much better.
Maybe in the future I will buy another tablet drawing screen like Cintiq, but with a bigger size. Probably not a Wacom of 21” or 27” because those sizes are too expensive and I may not have the budget to buy one, instead it will be an alternative tablet.

Something I did to past the time. As an artist, you have to keep drawing at least a sketch or else, you get rusty.
Speedpaint coming soon.
Done in Paint Tool Sai (part of the sketch) and Clip Studio Paint.
Tools: Wacom Cintiq 13HD.

The art of pricing your illustration services has proven to stump creatives again and again. Price yourself too high and you might scare clients away. Price yourself too low and you can’t pay basic bills.
In my experience, pricing has more to do with self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth – than the “going rate” or the numbers.
That being said, most creatives project these self-doubts by underpricing themselves, which results in failed creative businesses... >>> CONTINUE TO READ THE ARTICLE
